At all budgets, there are only a few features you should look for in a good digital camera for architectural photography:
- Multiple shooting modes (aperture priority, shutter priority, manual and automatic)
- A good-quality zoom lens (even more important with SLRs, as this will last you for many years and, potentially, multiple camera bodies)
- Good quality images at a high ISO sensitivity
- Lenses with image stabilization or vibration reduction
- A large, bright LCD screen with a histogram option
- Raw format file option
